Audio Help! (First Timer)

Im planing on buying 2 Audiobahn 12" subwoofers at 1100 watts RMS a piece. I dont know what any of the rest of the #s mean, so ill copy and paste it onto here...

120oz Double Stacked Strontium Magnets ·Efficiency: 96.4dB ·Stamped and Balanced Aluminum Cone ·2.5" 4-Layer AVS Voice Coil ·Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils

By the #s, does it look like a good subwoofer? I personally know that Audiobahn is a top company so im thinking I cant go wrong there. If someone can explain some of these things are like OHM and voice coil, it would be appreciated. Also, can someone please steer me in a direction of a good amp that will handle both of these woofers. I dont want my car to go up in flames haha. Thx in advance!!!

Re: Audio Help! (First Timer)

thats like saying pyramid makes top quality products. Sorry to say but audiobomb is far from a top company if anything most of there stuff is about average with rockford, sony and pioneer's entry level to mid level, and audiobomds high level stuff is maybe like mid level to alot of the real top shelf brands ie RE audio, incriminator, soundsplinter etc.

As for the explaining what you want to know OHMs is the level of resistance, the voice coil is what moves the subs cone, when you get things like DVC, and QVC or dual voice coil, quad voice coil are used for lowering the impendance/resistance to get more power out of an amp. Sicne those subas are DVC they can either be wired in for 2ohms each sub parellel, and 8ohms serial. For a mono block either 1ohm parellel or 16ohms series.

What amp do you have or what one do you plan on getting, those subs would be lucky to handle 600rms, 1100 would put them ina grave.

Id also look into getting a better set of subs before you worry about an amp, depending on what your looking for in your system depends on what everyone can recomend, do you earth shaking bass, an extreme sound quality setup or something that sounds good an hits hard. Audiobahn is nothing but flash other than that there worthless for subs and amps.
Do some searching you have a little to learn.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
