1989 Camry unknown spare part. where did it come from?

Hello,

I have a 1989 Camry with 199,000 miles on it and about a month ago I replaced the gas tank straps. one of them completely broke in half due to rust and rot. I removed the gas tank while I was at it to check the condition of it and to check the fuel filter/strainer located on the electronic fuel pump. BTW the strainer was very clean which suprised me. The one on my 1985 Camry that I owned a few years back was almost completely clogged up and as a result my car wouldn't run right.

Anyway, while I was working on my car I found this square piece or heavy metal on the ground that measures approx. 3" + 3" + 1"
it looks like it was mounted somewhere on my car at one time or another and I have know idea where.

You got me. Take it to the parts dept at your dealer. Could it be a bumper or hanger of some kind?
