1st and 2nd gen. tailgate

i heard that the inside of the tailgate of the two models are the same. motor etc. does anyone know is the glass is the same/interchangeable?

I don't think the glass, or the tailgate skin is the same. They have different outlines between the years.

According to the service guy at the local Toyota dealership the 2 are NOT interchangable. Even the motor is of a diff. voltage, so some people that go to a bone yard to replace one get a bad experience, if you know what im saying.
