Rust!!!!

I am starting to get a little rust in the wheels well of my 1990 Accord. It is not at all noticable unless to get up to it really close and look. The rest of the body is in great condition and only has 68,000 miles on it. With winter comming, I want to make sure that this is fixed. I want to keep this car looking like new! I was thinking about waiting till it will be dry for a few days, put some rust killer on it, and then paint over it. Will this work best? I hate Ohio winters, too much salt on the roads! Yuck!

an easy fix that can even be done right there at home is to grind down the rust spot (if its that bad, as in bubbling and paint popping, otherwise just sand it with some heavy grit sandpaper i.e. 40,80,120 grit). apply your rust remover, ive found rust-mort to be a good product, let that sit for 24 hours, wipe the area clean with mineral spirits, apply a small amount of bondo, or in minor cases; spot glaze or spot puddy, (if any is even needed) then sand/prime/paint. you may not need to follow every and all steps, but its a basic guideline.
