Trouble code p0440
My 96 jimmy is giving me trouble cod p0440 something with the evap system control malfunction or something. Does anyone know what it could be or what to look for.

Gas cap loose or not sealing is the first think to look for with this.

Did you clear it and it came back, if so there is a leak somewhere in the evap system, this requires a smoke machine to track down.

I realize this is an old thread I'm digging up, but that's the point of the search bar right. I also have this code recurring on about a monthly basis, is it worth spending money on tracking it down or just keep clearing it?

If you do not have an emissions test in your state you could get away with it. But it could also be related to a potential fuel leak. When we are done here, I will have to close this thread.
