i have 2 problems on my grand voyager

I got this 1994 Grand Voyager used this way. I have the wiring diagram.

1 The cruise control is completly dead. All other controls on the stering colum work fine including the horn.

2 The electric side mirrors will not move under power. I have to adjust them by hand.

Can someone please help me.

Check fuses

For the cruise control I would check for voltage at the servo when you push the switch to turn it on first. If it's not there go backwards towards the power source on the schematic until you find power. Your problem will be between that point and the servo. One easy culprit could be contacts in the brake light switch on the back side of the brake pedal arm. If the contacts are sticking on then your cruise will never engage. The switch has separate contacts for your brake light and cruise so just because your brake lights are working doesn't mean the switch is good. You have to use your meter to confirm it's good.

Use the schematics the same way for the mirrors except I would start at the power source and go towards the mirrors since the mirror connectors are inside the door (I think) and tough to get to. Autozone.com is a good site for more info. You just have to plug in your car info and it should give you a whole list of info to look through. Specifically they give you component locations and schematics. Keep in touch. Cheers.

Just thought of this. Find the "IOD" fuse in the fuse panel next to the battery. Remove it a few minutes then reinstall it. This resets the Body Control Module, better known as the BCM. This gem controls nearly all the electrical functions in the van. Might fix both your problems.

Re: i have 2 problems on my grand voyager

For the cruise control, I would first suspect the brake or stop light switch (under dash and up against the brake pedal support arm, plastic with a little foot that extends), I had this issue with my '96 Caravan and after replacing all vacuum lines I got smart and went under dash, replaced the switch (available at most auto part stores) and all is well.
