Coolant Looking Like Mud...
Does This Mean I Need A Coolant Flush? The Coolant Tank, Where The Antifreeze Goes, The Liquid That Is Supposed To Be Antifreeze Looks Like Mud Or Sludge. Any Ideas?
Thanks For The Help Guys And Gals! |

Re: Coolant Looking Like Mud...
Was standard anti-freeze mixed with dex-cool?
Dex-cool is what should be in the system, and when it breaks down it has the reputation of looking as such. Definatley I'd backflush it, refill and monitor the situation. This is presuming the oil appears normal, and there are no drivability issues. |

The Oil Seems To Be Fine...
Any Suggestions On Places To Get A Coolant Flush? Or Could I Do It Myself? |

Re: Coolant Looking Like Mud...
You can do it yourself fairly easily, simply drain the system and install the "t" in the heater core outlet hose. The "t" kit is made by Prestone and is usually under $5. The only problem is it's messy, an we all know the concerns about the enviornemt and animals here, so keep Fiddo inside
If you choose to have it done, I believe palces like Jiffy Lube and such do it for a fair price price. |
