I had a 70 SS396 when I was in high school but thats gone now.I would love to have it back.I know where there is a 1953 vette sitting in a barn 10 miles away from me!Honestly. The farmer is pretty old.I stop out every once in awhile but he says it can just sit for now?Its been sitting 25 plus years now.I dont have enough money right now to even offer him anything.Big money sitting there!Born

Re: Best Classic Car Ever?

The original Ford Mustang was introduced as a 1964 1/2. Ford liked to do this in the '60's, since a model that was introduced mid-model-year would get undivided attention, while those that came out at the beginning of the model year often got lost among the other new models. The original Mustang was essentially unchanged for the 1965 and 1966 model years. Changes included increased the V8 from 260 ci to 289, and changing the front lip of the hood. The '67&'68 models have different taillights, and are designed to accept the big-block V8 engines. The '69 models look completely different.

Yah, stexch those are some great cars there - the XKE is certainly up there for me too. It is rather hard to pick a favorite, a classic car buff friend of mine once said people tend to like cars from the decade they grew up in. Although I am kinda partial to classics from the 60's which is a bit before my time.
