change oil light

My change oil light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. I just had the oil changed and followed the directions on how to reset the light but still comes on. Any ideas? This is a 2003 TB.

Re: change oil light

Oil change shops dont know how to reset the oil life monitor system.

1) Put the ignition to "Run" (engine not running)

2) Floor and release the accellerator pedal 3X within 5sec. Not too fast, not too slow, Just a steady, full range of motion with in the 5sec.

3) The change engine oil icon on the dash will *flash* to indicate the system has been reset.

Done!

Re: change oil light

Thanks!! I did that several times and it didn't work. Tried it again last night and made sure I pressed down nice and smoothly each time and that worked!!

Re: change oil light

I've had to do several attempts as well. It's kind of a pain, especially since I dont follow it anyway. I just do 5Kmi oil changes.
