94 Trunk pull down doesn't work

Gramps caddy has a broken trunk pull down. Didnt have any tools this weekend but checked the fuse d7 and its ok. Fuse D5 is blown and keeps blowing though but that another issue. I think its the microswitch because it opens and closes fine but the pull down motor doesnt work. Any common problems theese have.

Check the switch on the trunk lid latch, as well as the one on the motor itself.

Re: 94 Trunk pull down doesn't work

So checked it out and found lots of rust on the striker pin that pulls down by the motor. Sprayed some wd40 on it let it soak and didnt do anything. Pulled the whole assembly and took it apart to find lots of dirt and sand got stuck in the gears and allowed the motor to push out farther than its supposed to and broke the pull down switch. Put a new switch in and cleaned out all the dirt, re-greased the gears and walaaa, it works!! Good thing it didnt break the gears or motor (those were 198.00 at the dealer, the switch was 18.00)
