GS towing?

Thanks for the input on my last thread. i planned on getting a U-Haul trailer and towing it for 2500 miles. I know the trailer has to be more than 600 lbs. At this point i really cant load it with too much. I know it would be hard on the tranny. Im afraid that if i hit the gas too hard from a stop I may twist the frame. Anyway...I decided not to tow with it. Thanks!

Re: GS towing?

Sorry for what happened at your last thread Regalfriend but the best thing to do is follow the Regal Owner's Manual at Chapter 4. To cut to the chase, the trailer and its contents should not exceed 1000 lbs (1/2 ton). I have followed that guideline for the last two years with no problems. And I am not looking for any either.

I would hate to see you blow your engine or transmission on such a long haul as a 2500 mile trip, have a blow out (tires are relevant in the equation), suffer structural damage to your Regal or lose the load.

IMO you would be better off renting a U-Haul truck of the proper size and towing the Regal to your destination. Good luck!

You are welcome Regalfriend
I hope my answers on last post did not offend you in any way.
Your decision not to tow may be a good choice.
A lot of things beside weight could affect the vehicle and towing that many miles.
Even holding under max towing trailer weight.
Long big hills and slick/iced up roads and head or side wind resistance all make towing harder and sometime dangerous.
Good Luck on your trip.
