Re: 92 Honda Accord battery goes dead
Take the battery to Autozone, Pepboys, Sears or many gas stations and have them charge it and perform a load test to be sure a cell isn't shorted. If the battery is more than 4 years old, buy a new one.
If the battery is good, disconnect the positive battery cable and connect an ammeter between the disconnected cable and the positive battery post. Shouldn't read much more than around 50 milliampers. If it reads significantly higher, leave it connected and start removing fuses one at a time. The fuse you remove when the meter drops is the system draining your battery. You'll have to check for shorted wires or components in that system. An easy thing to check is lighting in the glove box, trunk or engine compartment if equiped. Is it turning off when they are closed? Should be getting at least 13.5 vdc measured across the battery posts with the engine running. This proves the alternator is pumping out enough voltage to charge the battery. Cheers.
