Engine Whine
Hi,
Haven't a clue whether I have a I or a II Laguna, but it is a 1999 Laguna RT Sport 1.8. with some 127000miles on the clock. Runs very well but just recently a "whine" has started from the right hand side of the engine. Not being any good with engines 'n' stuff I'm worried it is something serious. Can anyone advise please what this might be?? Thanks Colin

Sounds like you have a Laguna 1.
I have a Laguna 2, and the service mechanic said I have a whine from the right side of the engine too. I had a look and it is coming from the timing belt area, so it could indeed be serious. Best to have it checked out, but you might be cheaper going to a local garage rather than a main agent ( unless you have a warranty that is)
