Some Marker Sketches

Hey again,

Some of these are old, some new. Mostly they are just me experimenting with achieving different colors/paint effects/textures with marker using layering techniques. These renderings are a mixture of Prismacolor markers, pencils, and white gouache paint. Let me know what you think... comments and critisism are always welcome.... and yes I know the proportions are wonky on some of them, - i.e. the mustang.

early 50's Chevy pickup

2006 Stang

37 Ford hardtop

Interior concept sketch

Aston Martin SUV concept

Re: Some Marker Sketches

Awesome! I really like to see more freehand work from yours.

One can really see how you learned the way how cars look like with your gridded works and how you can apply it now on your freehand sketches.

The colors and shadings are excellent!

The front view of the Aston looks a bit like a van, but I can also see some Cayenne in it. Oh and the Stangs wheelbase looks a bit stretched.

Happy new Year to everybody!

Re: Some Marker Sketches

Nice work! Those look great.

Quick question, bout what size are your drawings and do you use a scanner or a camera to get it online?

Re: Some Marker Sketches

Thanks guys.

knightvision: yeah, there is a bit of Cayenne in the SUV, now that you mention it.

Acoustic, these ones are in my sketchbook... 8 1/2 x 11. I scan them and resize it on photoshop.

Re: Some Marker Sketches

Great sketches, the Mustang does look a bit "toony" if that's what you
were trying for.
