cannot get my 97 blazer out of park
the engine starts fine but when you put your foot on the brake and try and move out of park it acts like it does not see the brake, had the ignition switch changed about 6 weeks ago and everything has been fine since, does anyone have any ideas?

It might be worth a shot but try getting the interior really hot by letting the heater run for a while. Sometimes drinks and such can spill down in the consol and cause problems such as your having.

Assuming yours is a center shift and not a column shift.

Thanks for the ideas Guys, turns out the connectors had broken off the switch under the center console, plus the odd coke spillage did not help!
