oo silverado starting issues

my silverado has problems starting..it turns over and acts like its almost firing up and it wont....sometimes it will.....sometimes it will and when i give it gas it acts like it has no power and "bogs down" it also does this bogging if im on the highway and punch it to pass someone, sometimes........ it will idle smooth though it usually doesnt act up unitl ive been on the road for a while....it ususally starts right up from cold with no problem...thanks for your help....bob

What motor, how many miles. Has it had a tune-up recently including fuel filter ,or any other type of engine/mechanical repairs. what you willl likely read is fuel pressure issues /regulater. So you might as well look to get pressure checked to start with .

4.3 v 6 127k miles... tune up about a year ago...new plugs, fuel filter....tansmission rebuild this past summer....the problem has done it before the tranny rebuild, though

Same thing happened to me, Fuel Pressure regualtor fixed it just right....small and expensive...about $100

YEP! The regulator! Same thing happened on my 99, takes like 10 minutes to fix too....

i had the same problem with my 99 (dont think mine was quite that bad but still sounds similar) it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. shut it off for awhile then pull the line off the fuel pressure regulator, if gas comes out then it's bad. easy fix takes about 10 min and does not cost that much.
