Ok tonight i was driving to my moms house and i the car started to make a scratching sound from the motor and it was very loud and i don't know what it is. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! someone help i have no idea what happend its not knocking like it did on the 7-bolt. But it won't turn all the way over and i can't be without my car so i need it back as soon as possible any ideas?
this is the 5th time something has happend to me since i got the car back

Its like a scraping sound more like nails on a chalk board but it only does it at idle and thats if the car stays on. But then it will shut off and it tries to turn back on but its seem like the battery is dead but its a brand new one

So it only makes the noise at idle? Does the car idle fine or is it rough and wanting to stall out? How about the driveability, can you drive the car? I'm thinking it has something to do with the starter/flywheel....just off the top of my head.

No it was making the noise as i drove and then it died. I started it today and it turned on and made the noise for a little while but then it went away and hasn't made the sound as loudly as it did last night. But where is the knocking coming from? I know when i tried to start it last night it wouldn't even turn over and it just made a high pitched sound. Like the starter was turing but there was no connection from the flywheel. But doesn't completely explain the knock. and its not like the spun bearing knock.
As far as idle it seem to idle fine it makes a small amount of noise and knock. I drove it today and it seemed ok but made alot of noise knock and the scratching sound

Does it sound like a high pitched screaming noise? It sounds like youre describing a bad starter.

thats the sound but it was only doing that last night. It started right up it made a scratching noise shortly this morning and then it went away. but was replaced by a knocking sound.

Try starting up the car in neutral and opening the hood and seeing if you can hear where it's coming from. Touch the starter (before the motor gets hot) and see if you can feel the "knock" coming from there, or wherever it sounds like it is.

Well i tried that but it doesn't seem to move from what i can tell but we are going to start taking it down tomorrow. So hopefully i can get it all straight before school starts.

Do flywheels make a knocking noise if they are loose?

Well i started it again after unplugging the spark plug wires on each on and now the knock was pratictly gone but and the oil pressure was higher than normal at idle. It was almost in the middle of the gauge normal idle is almost at the bottom of the gauge. I'm so confused here I don't know. My oil cap also has a leak and i took that off and looked and it seemed to make a slight difference in the knock as well.

So now the problem is that you're getting too much oil pressure? Where was the knock coming from? Did you ever figure that out?

No I didn't I took it to this shop today because the people who put the motor in keep telling me they are going to come by and look at it but still haven't. I don't have time to wait for them anymore and now i just need it to work i have to get a bunch of stuff done and they have killed me by having to wait. Its now been over a week since it broke down and i just don't have the time to wait. So hopefully the shop won't take to long and tell me what the problem is. If its the flywheel than i should have it back by the end of the day. I'm hoping thats what it is because if it spun a bearing again. I'm going to be pissed. That would mean that the clearances were off. It kind of worries me because the guy who put my motor together his car spun a bearing after he got it running. But he has put other dsm's together and they have ran fine and are still running. So.... Hopefully its just the flywheel coming loose and thats what causing the noise.

And the bad news that its a rod. The one thing that i hoped it wasn't. Can i Lift the car and drop the pan and replace it with out having any other problems? Or do i need to take the hole thing out and start from the begining
