Help Please!

I just bought a 97 Sierra ext cab short bed. It ran good till 2 weeks ago. It bogs a little while driving and can't really floor it the RPM's go up but the truck is at a stand still and won't excelerate and also losses a lot of power going up hill's.

I read that changing the fuel filter might help so I will do that this w/e. But if that doesn't help where do I go next.

Thanks.

Re: Help Please!

Welcome to AF. . Does this feel like the trans is slipping or the engine is down on power, your description of the problem is not clear.

Re: Help Please!

Yeah it feels like the engine loss of power and feels kind of a ruff ride and takes a while for the truck to catch speed when getting in the highway.

Unhappy Re: Help Please!

I really need help! I changed the fuel filter and the truck is still stalling. It feels as if it is lacking fuel.

Should I change the fuel pump or what should I do?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help Please!

Is it standard? If so it could be your clutch. You said it revs at high RPMS but it goes no where.... thats your truck or torque converter if you have an automatic
