Set up help
I have a profile 2 channel amp, 2 infinity perfect 10.1 subs (single voice coil, 4 ohms). Can I hook each neg and pos together on the subs, and bridge the two subs off my two channel amp to make the subs perform at 2 ohms? or would I be better of just hooking each sub directly to each channel on the amp? heres the diagram below i am following

Re: Set up help
Depending on which way you wire it...if you want to wire 1 sub to each channel, wire it like this:
![]() Bridging it to operate at 2Ohms will give you more RMS power, the subs will hit a bit harder... as far as bridging them, I've only seen it done once or twice, still learning...others can probably explain it a bit better than I .

Re: Set up help
ok i will wire it like diagram 2 so my 4ohm subs will run at 2 ohms. but the negative and positive wires going to the amp.... would i be better of bridgeing the two subs or just go off one of the two channels?

Re: Set up help
"Bridging" your amp means that you are combining the power of the 2 channels of the amplifier, and not using just one of the channels to power both subs. If you were to use diagram 1 above, a single sub would be powered by one channel, and the other sub by the other channel on the amplifier. Although you could wire both subs into one channel, you will get more power to them by bridging the amp (Diagram 2 wiring), it all depends on what you want to do, and also depends on your amp and how many watts your subs can handle.
Like I said, I'm probably not the best person to explain this, but this is what I pulled from a website: ![]() http://www.bcae1.com/bridging.htm The site above is a great article on bridging, well worth reading if you're new to this as I am .

Re: Set up help
heres what my amps manual says. I have the AP1200
Impedance Stability For 2 and 4 channel amplifiers, the amp is stable with a 2 ohm or greater impedance load
under stereo mode and 4 ohm or greater impedance load under bridged (mono) mode. For mono subwoofer amplifiers (AP700M & AP1000M), the amp is stable with a 2 ohm or greater impedance load. So does this mean I should not make my subs 2 ohms and run it bridged? |

Re: Set up help
exactly. your amp can not handle 2 ohms when bridged. wire each sub to a separate channel.

Re: Set up help
Which amp is it, depending on the amp wiring it up normally pos-pos on amp and neg-neg on amp one on EACH channel not bridged. I use to have a ca600 and to perfect 12.1 and they hit really hard and it was only 150 to each sub.

Re: Set up help
i have the profile ap1200 2 channel amp, pushing 2 infinity perfect 10.1's. Each sub is only getting 200 rms, and the subs are rated 350 rms

Re: Set up help
200 watts should be plenty its probably closer to 175-180 considering profiles ratings are always a little high. But bridging the amp will not work as stated earlier.
