Idle Hick-Up at A/C Comp. Cycle.
Hi all. I have another question. I have the 03' Alero with 73,000 miles, and I have noticed that when Im ideling my car at a red light and the car is in gear, when the A/C compressor kicks in the cars idle dies down, and the RPM's go down to the point that the car acts like its going to die, but just for a second. The RPM's fall, and acts like its going to die for a second, and then the RPM's go up, and then fall back to normal idle speed. This all happens with the car in gear, and at idle.
When I bought the car I had this issue and the dealer replaced something that made it better, but for the past few months its doing it again. I looked back at the receipts from the dealer, but it doesnt say what was replaced since it was warranty work. Anyone have any ideas? I do remember that it was a sensor, or a solenoid that was replaced, and am certain its the same thing. Its been about a year and a half since it was last replaced! Thanks in advance! ~Wes~ |

Re: Idle Hick-Up at A/C Comp. Cycle.
It would help to post your engine size.
Possible vacuum leak or IAC valve.

Oh yeah, sorry, lol... I guess that would help! hehehe
It has the Econo 2.2L 4Cyl. Been a great little engine, great on gas, lot of power for a 4Cyl., just this little returning issue! Thanks again! ~Wes~ |

I was curious to if you every found a solution to this issue. I'm having about the same problem with my 03 alero gl automatic 4 cly. Does your car still do it when the air or recirrulator is off? Mine hasn't, just curious! thanks, Kayla
