Question Ford F-350 Diesel

I work as a Mobil Maintenance Mechanic and today I got called out to two F-350 diesels. The problem with both were identical!

The batteries were fully charged but turning the key to the start position resulted in nothing!

When I say nothing I mean with the starter. Everything else worked fine ONLY the starter would not work.

What I did was under the hood on the passenger side,...... I removed the small wire connector from the solenoid and manually crossed the connectors to start the engines.

Any ideas on what this mystery problem could be?

NOTE: Both drivers had mentioned that their "FUEL IN WATER" light was on earlier

What's this sound like guys? :bandit:

The water in the fuel I think is irrelevant.
If the starter would not engage and you jumped the two wires at the solenoid and it started, Solenoid is the problem!!

2 months ago I had to replace the Key switch in my 93 F-350. I kinda had the same type of problem but it would work after playing with the key.Another thing it could be, the said trucks late 80s to around 91ish Kick the clutch pedal down hard and try that.

Jumping at the solenoid would be the solenoid bad 99.9% of the time
