Rear defrost stuck on....

About 2 weeks ago my alternator went out.....I tried finding a recomended alternator to no avail......
I only had two days to find one and install.....
So I didn't have much time to wait for one to be shipped to me......
I ended up having to buy an "Autozone" alternator.....
Ever since I started it with the "Autozone" alternator, my rear defrost is stuck on........
It will start with the light on and I'm unable to get the light to turn off......
The rear window is warm to the touch so I'm pretty sure it always activated.....
I read alot of bad things about the aftermarket alternators here and was wondering if this sounds like the alternators bad/misfunctioning......
Should I bring it in and get a new one since it has the lifetime warranty or does it sound like a different issue possibly?
I'm going to buy a recomended alt once i have the money but it was just christmas so my wallet isn't too heavy........I'm already going to have to deal with clunking noise with stop and accelating which was qouted here around $150, so another $250 is going to to take a little time.....

1998 Honda Passport 4wd
Any insight/advice apprieciated

Thanks,
MinLO

Re: Rear defrost stuck on....

pop the switch out of the dash (grab it form the top and bottom) and unplug it it. You may just have a bum switch.

the last time I had my drive shaft clunk greased at the dealer it cost me 50 bucks.
