have you greaed the car lately if not do that frist its sound like a dry ball joint or tyrod end .if that dose not cure it your top strut bearing is dry.

I just put the KY-B GR-2s on my '03 Galant at 78K miles. No problems - they work great. My clunks went away (although the old ones had no signs of oil leaks). You'll need a spring compressor - make sure you grab as many coils as possible when you compress so that you'll be able to undo the assembly. As another improvement, I bought some camber adjustment upper strut bolts also since my car had 0.3 degrees positive camber and I prefer a little negative camber (for uniform tire wear and better handling). They're around $28 including shipping. I then realigned the car setting up the alignment to my specs and it drives great now.

After a bad rear ender and subsequent "repair" My '01 GTZ's rear tires started rubbing inside the wheel wells (up and to the rear of the inside wall adjacent to the passenger compartment/trunk). It's really bad when I have rear-seat passengers. I took it to the dealer, and naturally they blamed my 17" wheels. According to the repair shop, my Galant's body was properly aligned. According to the tire shop, my tire/wheel combo is fine.

I'm thinking if I can jack the rear ride height up about .5" I should be fine. I'd rather avoid extending the wheels out or replacing the tires.

Could a standard alignment shop handle this?
