2002 Aurora key fob programming

Can anyone tell me how to program my key fob on my 2002 Aurora? TIA

Install a (fused) jumper wire between sockets 8 and 4 on the Data line connector. ( Connector under instrument panel ,left side)

Turn iginition sw "on"

Press and hold the 'lock' & 'unlock' buttons on the transmitter. Doors lock & unlock.

Remove the jumper.

Thats the way it's done on my '96

thanks--the dealer says I need a scanner tool to do it. guess it's cheaper to let the dealer do it--$41.00
