Belt Pulley Clicking Sound
I have a 2003 Intrepid 3.5 w/ 70K miles. I just noticed that I am getting a clicking noise from one of my belt pulleys. I was thinking of spraying some WD40 or other lubricant on the pulley to maybe stop the squeak.
Does anyone think that will solve the problem or is the pulley bearing inevitably going bad? Something else might be the problem? |

Re: Belt Pulley Clicking Sound
Still clicking? Could be any number of things. I wouldn't think spraying wd 40 would help. Most pulley bearings are sealed and you sure as hell don't want it on the belt.
Try to pinpoint the click using a DIYers stethoscope. Cut a 2-3 foot length of garden hose and cup it to your ear. Got to be very carefull though.
