I found a 92 coupe for $900. It needs some body work and has some rust on the wing. He also says that the piston ring from the first cylinder might be worn-out. Was wondering how much would it cost to fix and would it be worth buying it and fixing or should I pass up on it.

Re: Question about purchasing a 92 240SX?
Piston rings wouldn't cost much, the labor will. If you are replacing those, then might as well do the bearings, and pretty much rebuild the whole engine. Or buy a new engine. This should be about $200 for an engine, and 500+ for labor.
Body work will cost quite some money as well. My advice is keep looking.

Re: Question about purchasing a 92 240SX?
yea it really depends on how car savvy you are. If you can do some of the work, well then it might be an ok buy.
