Re: BMW Z3 roadster

Nice shine on the paint, you need to invest in a sharp pointed paint brush

Re: BMW Z3 roadster

Looks good- the body paint in particular is very nicely done. Want some advice on improving it?

Re: BMW Z3 roadster

Well, as I said the body paint looks very well done- so with just a few touches this build could come out looking really good.

First, I would strip the chrome from the wheels and spray them with metallic. BMW's almost aways come on bare alloy wheels, so the kit chrome is waaay too bright. Tamiya flat aluminum or similar works very well for this.

Next, the panel lines are a bit too heavy. Fortunately, TS is pretty resiliant paint so it should't be hard to correct. If you used acrylic or enamel, you should be able to use a Qtip/cotton bud (one of these things)
moistened in a little thinner to clean them up. With panel lines, too little is better than too much. When you can barely see a streak of dark in the groove, it's about right.

Other than that, painting the vertical grilles on the nose and the door handles black will help the apperence alot. For both of these when I built this kit, I hand painted them with flat black acrylic and then gently scraped away any errors with the tip of a toothpick dipped in acrylic thinner. This makes it easy to correct any mistakes with the hand painting.
