Welcome on your first post on AF.
But we need more info.
Does it start and run?

Tips on getting a good answer to your questions.
People trying to answer your question do not have a crystal ball.
So give them all of the info you have like year make and model and engine and transmission and mileage.
Also cars engine and transmission service history or any recent repairs or problems.
Also a description of your problem and what it is doing or not doing.
If you have codes give up the code no.
And remember a code does not say replace the part but only points to the problem that you have to check out.
So to better help you give up all of the info you have on it.

Check power to it and grounds and fuses first.
Any instrument panel illumination lights when head or parking lights are on?
Any recent repair or add on stuff?

Re: 2004 Silverado...HELP

All panel lights work..
Added Satellite XM Radio, power thru cig. lighter.
Company added strobe lite.

When I recieved this truck 2 weeks ago, just out of body shop. previous driver hit a fence with it. right back ext. cab door messed up.
My first time in it notice the language scrolling on the info screen.
have to reset to english every morning.
this is a company truck...we have 5 of them this model, mine has 40,000 highway miles. The others have 60,000 to 80,000 miles on them and they are ROUGH(right of ways, power line) miles.
This could just be the lemon of the group?

It does not sound good for the instrument cluster.
But check all power and grounds and wiring plugins.
Also you might try a battery disconnect and unplug and plug back in pcm and instrument cluster.
I have had some pick up a spike from a battery jump or static charge where a disconnect and plug back in would get them working again.
If not a rebuilt instrument cluster should fix it.
let us know how it goes.
Or a good dealer or repair shop might pick up something in a scan and test on body computer.

Glad you got it going and thanks for posting back the fix.
It may not work ever time but does not cost anything to try.
Jump starting or changing battery or a dead battery will some times give it a stacic charge and lock it up.
Kinda like rebooting a PCM.
But remember to disconnect the neg cable first and hook it up last.
Good Luck

Re: 2004 Silverado...HELP

Great job on getting it working. I just wanted to let you know my cluster failed on the speedometer and had to be replaced at 37000 miles and I have a 2004.
