95 3.4L Fuel Filter
looking at changing my fuel filter, I don't think it's been changed in 100k+ miles. So, when I take it out, do I need something to plug the line so all the fuel won't sputter out? Anything else I might need to do besides change the fuel filter, the plugs+wires are less than 6 months old, did those as soon as I got the car.

Re: 95 3.4L Fuel Filter
Just have a catch pan ready and waiting and be sure to relieve the system pressure. And use line wrenches, one back up and to twist (loosen & tighten) and you'll be fine, the fuel will stop coming out.

you can also put a rag on the end of the line and put a rubber band around it...to hold back some of that leakage

Me personally I like to dissable the fuel pump and crank the motor over a few times have it pull the pressure through. |

Re: 95 3.4L Fuel Filter
I just crack it loose and let it spray all over me and the earth in a geyser of water table killing glee. The best way is to disable the fuel pump and crank the pressure out as wrightz28 said. Though every now and again a good gasoline bath is good for soul...

Re: 95 3.4L Fuel Filter
so I back it up on the ramps tonight, and the bolt that holds it in is dead stuck, any suggestions on getting it out? I wasn't turning the fuel filter itself, but the nut on the front of it, no avail.

Re: 95 3.4L Fuel Filter
ok what bolt are you talking about? The one that holds the fuel filter in the little case? or the inlet or outlit bolt? try to get some penitrating oil like PB blaster and soak it down a coupple times and let is sit for about 30min.
