AMT VeilSide Supra F&F Tokyo Drift

Hello Everyone,

First of all, let me wish you a merry christmas , hope y'all got the models you wanted

Anyway, decided to start a new car. I didn't finish the AMT pickup I started a few months back (I doubt anyone remembers it anyway) because I stupidly broke it which took away all my motivation to continue building it. Then I had to go back to college and haven't had a lot of time lately. But now the hollydays are here

Here's the model I started building 2 days ago : note that I didn't see this car in the movie o_O

About the kit : it looks really ugly on the box's side pictures. I didn't expect anything too fancy from AMT anyway...lots of pieces still lack precision and the way they make you hold things together on the engine is really weird sometimes. BUT, it's better than the 2 previous AMT models I started (didn't finish any of 'em...), there's more detail in the cockpit.

I basically finished the car actually. The body is drying right now and color is silver. Interior is flat black with a few green touches. Good thing with this kit is it's a 2,5 in one : you get 2 types of seats, one extra front bumper, 2 types of rear spoilers. The stock wheels are truely horrible and the exhaust doesn't look that realistic, anyway I'll stop talking!

The amps in the back are not the stock ones, I used some other better looking I had left:

The chassis still needs a few touches of color here and there:

Dumb to say but I don't really know what to expect once the car will be finished ^^ (tomorrow or after tomorrow). I just realized that the flash shows some unprecise painting on the seat belts :-/.

enjoy!

Re: AMT VeilSide Supra F&F Tokyo Drift

personally, I'm a HUGE fan of Supras. Once I get a 1995-1998 Toyota Supra, I'd doubt I'm going to drive a different car. I saw that kit on eBay and I was speculating on wether or not I should get it. How is AMT and how is the quality of that kit?

Thanks!

Re: AMT VeilSide Supra F&F Tokyo Drift

Well as I said...it's AMT. You have to sand down a lot of pieces but that ain't too big of a problem

On the side pictures on the box, they show the completed model and it looks like the stance is quite high. The rims are a joke, if you buy this kit, make sure you have others in stock...

The engine and the interior are okay though, quite detailed.

I'd say, if you want a cheap kit with some spare parts, go for it. But I think fujimi make better looking tuned supras and tamyia have some sweet stock ones.

Re: AMT VeilSide Supra F&F Tokyo Drift

Too bad I had some paint problems on the body, had to strip it down. Anyway, here's what the car looks like with body and the rims I'll use. The car is quite high I have to admit, but thats AMT's fault and I have no intention to bother changing it ^^'

cheers!

Good work on the interior and the engine. Are those NOS bottles included in the kit????

Yep all included. Actually this kit looks a lot like the AMT supra for the first fast and furious. Interior looks a lot alike, engine is the same...
