how do you know if a crx model is an hf or dx... i hope carfax.com isn't fkking me with this shit....

im trying to buy a crx hf trim of course.. but sellers weren't sure if the trim is hf or dx... and everything appears to be hf style.. but when i look it up on carfax.com i've only seen HONDA CIVIC CRX DX.

so yeah.. whats the main diff anyways... couldn't find any brochures online so yeah...

Re: asap asap asap

Well easiest way to do it would be to look at the motor. If its a d15 with factory mpfi its a hf.

Not true. My last two DX's both came with tachs. It has to do with where it was made (canada, japan, ohio)

Look at the engine code and see what it says.

... honestly... because if i know anything about a crx, without previously owning one, the hf is about 2 or 3 hundred pounds lighter (unless somewhere there was a rift in time and space and all the research i did was wrong) ........ or do you only care if it looks shiny and has pretty colored lights? ....

anyways... got it in my hands now... bought it for 400 bux and a PS3. Drove it back to my house which was 40 mins away and it seemed to be fine to me. It does have a tach and such but i'll double check about the engine code. thanks anyways.

Which one had tachs? Mines an 88 made in japan and it did not have a factory tach, and I havnt no seen one that does.

Re: asap asap asap

2-300 pounds is far from the truth. Difference in the hf and the dx is 100 pounds max, more along the lines of 30-40 pounds- if even that.

Re: asap asap asap

He might be thinking about the 1st gen CRX weight differences between the HF and Si. There is a 300 lb difference there, but I would stick with the Si because where all the weight came from was suspension, and I would sacrifice some weight for a beefer suspension, especially since the Si still only weighs 1900lbs.

Re: asap asap asap

hmmph... well if anything i'd blame it on you people at AF and Sport Compact Car mag (jkjk ) because i researched that the 88 had a type of rear steering assist thats good for tuning if you do it right. but w/e im happy for the time being. I'm pretty sure its an hf plus the dude said it has an hf motor ( i hope ).. but of course i'll check the engine code; about to do that in a little. Haha but go ahead and make fun but im jumping into this racing world dammit!! I plan to start out with Solo II in my local area.
