So I posted up on our local boards that I need an ECU and not long after I got a response from a guy who had one in tampa. We talked for a while and after he started telling me about his car and showed me some pics. Just thought I would share this with you.

I guess from what he told me is that this swap is only possible as a direct drop in on the 89 turbo Mirage, being that it has the same wiring and crap as a 90 DSM. From what he said his car ways only about 2200 lbs too.

Man, that was a really nice looking 1st gen he took apart

That yellow Mirage looked fucking amazing. Probally the most unassuming car I've seen in my whole life. You'd never guess that little lemon would hit 10's. Insanity.

I don't get it why is the liscense evo 3 he obviously has a bigger turbo then that. Or maybe there's something im missing??

With the Volk rims, the front end of that yellow Mirage reminds me of a cartoon version of an R32 Skyline I, myself, have never really got too into sleeper cars. I like being loud, obnoxious, and IN YO FACE.

Because he has an evo3 4g63 in it.



Also, the reason for the swaps in both cases probably has to do something with weight. Both of these cars weight a few hundred pounds less than a stock 1g. So it may not be as pretty but it's definnately fast.

I give them props for doing it correct instead of halfassing it... Both swaps are very clean and I can guarentee that you won't find too many of those cars driving around. Very unique indeed...

i have allways wanted to do a 6 bolt 4g63t mirage for along time.i found a mint condition 1990 1.5 auto i bought from a friends grand parent.i have allrady done the 5 speed swap and also the turbo harness with all the mirage turbo mounts.i had my spare 6 bolt motor in the car running perfect just to make sure my harness was wired right for the built motor.heres some pics of my project that should be done by summer.
