Windstar Transmissions

I have a 99 Windstar LX. The transmission went out at 111,000 miles.

Rebuilt from the dealer: $1850.52 ($2,500.00 Installed)!!!

I found a transmission shop about 35 miles from the house that knows how to rebuild my tranny. Cost ~$1,300.00 with a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty.

I love my Windstar!!! I can't wait to get rid of this van.

Re: Windstar Transmissions

Hind-sight is a wonderful thing, but you will almost always get a better price from a reputable trans shop over a dealership. They both use reman'd units.
