Gday, just wondering if holden fixed the piston problem and oil consuption in the ls1 by the time they got to the vy series 2 model. cheers.

Yes, they fixed the problem pretty early on(last of the VX). Less than 10% of VY Series one had the problem.

VYII moved the PCV from the L/H rocker cover to the inlet manifold, which solved the issue. With the new motors, if it is not using oil by 50,000Km's, it is unlikely to have problems in the future. Holden apparently will repair/replace any LS1 motor with oil problems up to 100,000Km's as it is an identified issue.
