Cigarette Lighter
Okay new problem. I just bought a radar detector and plugged it in, and to my surprise it wasn't working. So i decided to plug in a new car charger for my cell phone and it worked. But when I tried the detector in my co workers vehicle it worked fine. So what could possibly the problem?

Re: Cigarette Lighter
It is possible that the plug on the detector is not properly contacting the positive or negative terminals inside the cigarette lighter. Try twisting the plug and see what happens. The lighter plugs vary by manufacturer and it may be that the plug is just not compatable. You may need to purchase a new plug for the detector and install it. That should solve the problem. Or try a multi connector that will work on your car and then try to plug into that.

Re: Cigarette Lighter
Okay, I tried both methods and it still haven't came on. But how is it compatable with every other vehicle I put it in but mines? They do have other plugs but I seriously doubt that it would still work.

Re: Cigarette Lighter
Yes, it isn't that hard either. You can purchase a new one at most autoparts stores or go to the dealer. The hard part will be getting the old one out.
