Brainstorm about 2007 calendar ideas

Just now a friend remember me that I haven't done yet the calendar, stuff that I done last year as a Christmas gift for all AF members.

Basically I had less time to think at those this year but more is due to a lack of ideas: another GT4 showcase would be pretty annoying.

So: what are your ideas: if we do a calendar like last year, how would you like in the pics space?

An ideas could be:

- picts of master's build, something like Robrex, Phil, SkylineFan,Gergo, well we have a lot in the AF, choosen also with a "graphic" eye: but at least I have to ask they..

I also thought to put all the sprues of my stash in a box and shake... than take some interesting pics. Something like done indian's medicine-man or some wizard with cofee-trash . Just to know in advance how many die cast chassis we'll expect from the future. Well I can't say you how many box but would be very hard after do 1 only model..

so? any chances to do the AF calendar also for 07? any cool idea to help me?

I seen that last year those stuff gone in hand to some cool hot girls...

Re: Brainstorm about 2007 calendar ideas

How about a pirelli-calendar in scale!

You make the calendar based on pictures of so said impressive models and then you add by photoshopping real impressive models, like scarlett johansson. A bit like Luke does with his american racecars. Then you add a nice filter, a nice lighting effect (i have seen your photoshop skills) and voila. do this 12 times and you have it. It's the model's models.

Oh, make sure to make a 1/24th version of the calendar too, just in case!

Oli

Re: Brainstorm about 2007 calendar ideas

hello,

maybe an idea: Why not mixing on each page a real model and a scale model seen on AF ?
12 real cars & 12 scale models of the year !
like a kind of comparison between real car builders and models builders skills...

Phil

NO WAY!!! Are you CRAZY?!?!?!?!

You are the author of the calendar, YOU choose!!! (eg my Daytona, my Dino, my Boxster, my Mini, my 2CV and my Prowler you can use your crap for the other 6 months j/k)

How about:
  • Half stripped bodies in DOT3? Auto calendars are usually half stripped female bodies...
  • Warhol-ised reference pictures?
  • Member's Avatars? Can you do something with those? I've seen picture that have been made up with hundreds of smaller pictures - is there a software taht doeas that?
  • Maybe some of the funnier sig lines at the bottom of each month? Like "Don't jump on the ruler" (never did know where that came from )

Actually, I really like the sprues idea best so far - could be really cool and different if you have the time to do it.

PS Instead of Pirelli calendar, how about a room service calendar?
PPS sorry, I didn't sleep well tonight

Re: Brainstorm about 2007 calendar ideas

Oli's Pirelli calendar, please!

The sprues, though, awesome. I think I'll go to model shows from now on, and have builders bring in old kit boxes with their sprues still inside, so I can tell their fortunes! Brilliant!

4) Nissan Silvia (any)
I am not sure, that it will be interesting. I think that he should place the best 12 models of this year with foto-modelsopcorn:.

Re: Brainstorm about 2007 calendar ideas

Hey, gio!

For one I would love to see this pretty girl in a british classic from the '60's, with Black and white picture filter, would be rather stylish?...

And this chicky just would look stellar on a black car, no?

But of course, you do with it what you want!

Oli

It's looking pretty slim I guess, for my dream Sponge Bob Square Pants calender for the 2007 year . But I think Bigfrit is onto something here.....
