DIY Alignment?

So I want to do my own alignment. I don't know what to do, so any info is great. Last time I aligned it, mr. tire overcharged me, did it wrong, and I got in an accident 25yds from the store . So I want to do it myself from now on.

Find a better place to get your car aligned??? If you've never done it before, then you have a good chance of getting in an accident 10ft from your house. Not trying to put you down, but the shops have special alignment tools and machines to accurately align your car. It would prolly be more beneficial to you to just find a better shop, and call it a day.

Re: DIY Alignment?

Agreed, find another shop, because I'm sure you probably don't have floater plates laying around anywhere to do it your self. The only thing you can really do yourself without the plates is the toe, but I would still recommend taking it to a shop and having them do it.

Re: DIY Alignment?

Ok, let me rephrase what I said. If your going for a close to factory alignment, take it the shop and have them do it....then if you want to make slight adjustments to it, you can do it. But as for the first alignment setup, I wouldn't do it in your backyard. Its a lot easier messing with alignment settings if you have a good starting point, than going from a screwed up alignment in the first place.
