ss hood

This can go here or exterior. I am thinking about getting an SS hood that is functional. Do you guys and gal know of anything I need to make it functional on the car. Like different lid etc. I already have the slp lid with k&n filter.
I found a site that said the whisper lids are good for both but nothing on the slp says it is for the ss hood or not. I am guessing its a go but not sure.
Thanks

Re: ss hood

While it is functional, I can't see much gain.

I can think of much more power gains for $700.

Re: ss hood

By the time it's all said and done you're closer to $1500 painted and installed + the ram air intake system. It's a nice look though...

Re: ss hood

If ur gonna go for the SS look get the wing first, or the hood will look outa place....if u want performance get the LS6 intake instead.

Re: ss hood

get the wing, non-functional SS hood.. it looks as good..and its better.. get a K&N or something instead... the SS hood i heard gets heat soaked really fast..and you actually lose some power as you drive it... (so ive heard?)

i have a SS and i checked the intake box temp.. its way hotter than my sisters (Same year Z28 K&N)

and the designs pretty stupid, at least for the LT1. it makes a complete 180 before it goes into the intake manifold..
