2005 Aveo fuse box

Does anyone know if there is an extra fuse slot that I can wire a scanner into, If so can I purchase a wire connector at radio shack that you crimp the hot wire to and plug into the back of the fuse box and then insert a new fuse in the new slot. since the scanner pulls 1 amp I would use a 5 or 10 amp fuse in the box, along with the 1 amp fuse that came with the scanners hot wire.
