which sub?
hey. i originally wanted to get w 10" alpine type R's, but was told they would not fit into the box i need, for my ext. cab. i was looking and found some kicker compVR 10" subs with good reveiws, and then infinity kappa 10" subs with also good reveiws and the price range i want.
could you guys give me some advice on which one to go with, or something else, like alpine type S, or anything in $150 price range. thanks! |

Re: which sub?
Brand does not matter -- it's got to be a good match between the sub and the enclosure. Poo-poo on the articles if the subs are not tested in cabinets that match the size of your enclosures. You have an extended cab so the enclosure is going to be small for a 10" sub - even more so for two 10" subs. Most subs are made for bigger enclosures regardless of price.
Kicker Solo-Baric, JL Audio, and most dual voice coil woofers are good subs for small enclosures. Unless you are putting the subs in the bed, you are going to have a small enclosure for 2 10" subs in an ext. cab. |
