Anyone even care about the 350Z Track?

The production version of the 350Z kit has been issued, and Tamiya not only added the front and rear spoilers, but they also corrected some minor, but noticeable mistakes, that were found in the earlier kit.

* The body has the front lip spoiler molded in, and there's a mark, where you cut open to locate the rear wing on the inside of the rear hatch.
* New rear spoiler part.
* Corrected the shape of the door mirrors. It's slightly smaller and rounded.
* No holes for the passenger side door handle, and now you open only one side for either RHD or LHD version.
* Accurate passenger seat, which doesn't have a bump.
* Modified metal transfer sheet, which has smaller mirror faces, AND it has 350Z logo for the export version.
* Added logo for the dummy license plate, "Fairlady Z" and "350Z"

This makes the previous release (24246) obsolete, and all the tooling and printed materials will be lost, I think. Even if it's just a modified reissue, Tamiya is different from Fujimi. Don't you think so?
Oh, the price remains the same: 1800 yen.

Question What about the wheels?

The Track Edition should have wheels w/narrower spokes and small square dimples on each spoke.

I care - the Track version is the only reason why I haven't bought 24246. Actually I will probably buy both and make a tuner car out of the 24246..

Wink Whatever.

Why do they rush kits out like this, it's not like every model maker is tooling up to do this car? It's obvious they rushed the Modena and some other ones too.

They can make more money, they satisfy the demand created by the Concept car and then sock it to you a second time. But like hiro said, at least they take the time to retool and touch up their kits unlike Fujimi.

Incidentally, I just saw the Hyper Rev Fairlady 350Z Perfect Manual at my local kinokuniya. This should prove to be a valuable reference for building it.

Do we really need a manual to build a curbside?

It's probably already there, it's on Hobby Search now.

Thanks for the info, makes me glad I never bought the first one. I have not built a street car but for some reason I want to do that one and I will get the Enzo also.

No idea of what Hyper Rev is like?
Siince the Z33 is new, and there aren't so many custom parts available yet, so this issue isn't like Hyper Rev Tuning and Dress up guide, but it contains fair amount of technical information.

I started another thread on a typical Hyper Rev Tuning & Dress up Guide, so check it out.

I do want more pics of that Advan race version, I found one pic on the web but that was all. That is a cool car with the widened fenders!

What do you guys think of TS-50 on the 350Z as a body colour?

I think the TS 50 is a little too muted, it needs something more lively. Try TS Light Metallic Blue over TS 30 Silver Leaf.:frog:
