Somebody finally raced me...

It's not often I get the chance to race someone on the street, or that I feel it is safe to do so. My apartments are out in the sticks, and I was almost to them sitting at a light. I see a CRX pull up next to me. First thought was it was hideous, light yellow, white rims. Then I realized it was a pretty clean car, he'd done work to the interior, the exterior, etc. Not bad. I glanced at his dash, and I could tell that he had a boost gauge on his A-pillar, as well as a tach on his dash. It made me wonder if he had a turbo or something. Light turns green and we both pull away, but were accelerating at the same pace, still not racing. The second he went so did I, almost like it was choreographed. I went to about 100 before I realized I still had to make a right into my apartment complex. I think he shut down before this point, but when he did I think I had 3-4 car lengths between us. Once I realized he wasn't pulling anymore, I hit the hazards, gave him a thumbs up out the window, and almost didn't make my turn. It was all good though. I was impressed. Now it's time to head to the track and do some more racing. I'll post about that when I get back tonight.

Wow, I'm surprised a CRX could keep up with you that well, must have had a turbo or something.

Do you take everything this seriously? I was joking. Judging by the fact that BlkCamaroSS runs 13.5 seconds, and dusted him by several car lengths probably puts that crx in the 14s..

Keep in mind, I don't try to offend anyone with my posts. If I was trying, they would be blatantly offensive, and at the very least, wittier than my previous post.

I'm pretty sure he had a turbo, as we started off slowly, I was listening for a whine. It was a pretty distinctive spooling that I heard, which was why he did well and I gave him a thumbs up.

As for the track this evening, pretty much sucked. For everyone that had radials, they made you run out of the groove, and you just couldn't hook. My best run was 13.575 @ 105.55, beat my previous best by a hundredth while I lost a tenth on my 60' time, go figure that one out. It was a good time, I just couldn't hook up for shit. One of my 60' foots was a 2.43 just because I couldn't start in the groove. Kinda soured it a little though. Saw a Z06 run a 13.68 , felt bad for him. Saw a Z28 with a 383 run a 12.5, and raced one of my buddies who busted his transmission. He should beat my be at least a second and a half, and when I didn't see him pulling on me, I knew something went wrong. I guess it still counted as a win though. I was 3-1 at the track. Beat a fox body Mustang, a 98-02 bodystyle SS, my buddies 99 TA, and lost to bracket racer, he kicked my ass. It was all a good time though.

Not a bad post man, but considering you're considering you're replying to a conversation that is over a year old, I'd say you're a bit late...you know?

Try not to bump any thread older than 3 mos old, please.
