Spongy brakes

My 1998 Sebring Convertible w/ ABS has spongy brakes. I have bled them a couple of times using the pump and squirt method with no improvement. Is there something special I have to do with the ABS system to do a proper bleeding?

Thanx

Re: Spongy brakes

ABS brakes sometimes need to be power-bled with a certain electronic tool. Not sure what it is for Chrysler but I know the Ford tool. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Re: Spongy brakes

I don't think you need a scan tool to operate the abs unit you simply bleed from the wheels to bleed the systom through if you put a master cylinder on you will have to bleed the master first the bleeding procedure is to gravity bleed the RR wheel first followed by the LF then the LR Then the RF
