Re: really new to car audio. plz help

sounds like the power cable and/or fuse can't handle that much power. just a guess though.

sounds like you either .....
1) have something connected wrong
2) have a bad amp
3) are using the wrong sized fuse

Re: really new to car audio. plz help

check the package of the amp kit you bought and make sure you are using the right type of fuse (nothing that is less or exceeding what you need) and check to make sure your amp kit is designed to handle the watts your amp is delivering. tell us how your system is connected currently and the audio gurus can tell you if something is amiss (i probably can't).

do you mean a 30 amp fuse? cause you need around a 45 amp one if you do the calcalations (sp) 600 watts of the amp divided by a consent 14.4 volts

Re: really new to car audio. plz help

well i put in the deck. i wired the harness.. i conected to RCA cables to the amp. i ran the power cable from the battery to the amp. i bridge the subs.. i ran the remote wire from the amp to the deck. i grounded the amp to a bolt that holds the latch to close the trunk. i checked all the fuses. only the power one blows.

Re: really new to car audio. plz help

i don't think there is a 45 amp one, 40 amp is the biggest you can get in the (i forget what it is called) spade type, i think. check to make sure the power wire isn't touching anything or worn through, make sure speaker cables aren't shorted anywhere.

Re: really new to car audio. plz help

well the power cable is split because at the end of the cable where it connects to the battery it has a fuse connector to it so the amp wont blow i guess. and its attatched to the power wire and shit. and is elctrical taped. so yea..

Re: really new to car audio. plz help

that fuse near the battery is to protect the CAR, not the stereo stuff.
