Merry Christmas to me

Well guys. I think the Purple People Eater just took a turn for the worse... or best? I havent decided yet. As most of you know I want to be able to throw down ~450 but I was going to keep it stock bottom end. Well, as of right now, I am not a stock bottom ender. I just got some Ross 9:1 pistons and Eagle rods for $335 shipped . Yes, they are used, but at less than half the price from SBR I dont care. I mean seriously though, how can you fuck up rods? Even if I got bad luck and the pistons are junk, I still got the rods for less than normal. So anyway, I am fairly happy with this and I am sure I will be even more happy when they get here.

So now I pose the question: where from here? Now that I will have a built bottom end, pretty much sky is the limit right? The only thing I am worried about now is the tranny, which will stay stock until it breaks. I think I am going to take the turbo up a size and shoot for 500 now, shit I may just go GT35R. Who knows. But anyway, thats my Christmas present to myself.

One last question: WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!?!

Re: Merry Christmas to me

Congrats on the buy. I think we'll have to race...from a roll though because anything under 45 and I have no traction haha and even then I'll break them loose in 3rd

Re: Merry Christmas to me

I'd say that GT35R will be a little overkill and without a stroker, the lag would drive me craaazy. Nice find by the way. The only thing that could be wrong with them being as they're used is the rod journals could be scarred.

Re: Merry Christmas to me

Thanks guys. Yeah, a 35R is too big. Lag isnt too bad, the one I drove spooled a hair after 4 grand IIRC, but then the power band is soo short. I am going to set the engine off with some Manley, Crower, or Brian Crower springs and Ti retainers, then my engine should be able to rev out to like 8500 and dish out lots of hp. Fuck, might as well get some SS valves and set the bitch up for small shot of nitrous. I think I am going to go with a PTE SCM60 or maybe a SCM61 but I will have to see when I get back from taking this damn final. I am also thinking about going 92/meth instead of E85 because I am going to be getting into quite a bit of injector and pump right there, going E85 on all that would mean I would have to go 1600's and an external fuel pump for sure. I do however, think I am going to be running E85 for the breakin and duration the b16g is on. We'll see how it goes though. Right now, all I gotta do is focus on ripping the spare engine out the parts car and rebuilding that shit.
