Re: ran out of oil

Did you fill it back up with oil before you tried to start it? Do a compression test.

Re: ran out of oil

You ran it completely dry? For how long? I"m guessing.....Bearings are fucked, crank is junk, block is shot, cams are fucked, head is junk, rings are most likely shot, and cylinder walls are damaged. That's one of the worst things you can do to a motor.

You blew it up dude, time for a new engine.

Re: ran out of oil

Thank you Captain Obvious!

If you ran it out of oil and it wont stay started, my money is you have no bearings left and shes making a horrible noise when you can get it run. I just spun one bearing (I think anyway) and she would die and make a horrible ruckus. Best either A) strip the car of remotely valuable stuff and junk the chassis or B) get engine shopping.

Re: ran out of oil

Nah my 91 Eclipse was a 1.8 and has since been sold.
The 4g63 came out of a 91 Talon that I only drove once.
Thank you for pointing that out and giving your two cents.
Merry Christmas

Just thought I would clear that up for you, since somebody reading might think so.
