Throttle Body Cleaning..

Whats the best way to do it? Is it even necesarry? I have a can of throttle body cleaner dont want to just be spraying it everywhere that doesnt need it. Any suggestions.

The best way to clean the throttle body is to remove it from the car and spray the back of the throttle plate. If you have the 3.8 there is coolant to the lower part of the throttle body so you will have to drain down the coolant to remove it. Once it is off be careful of the mass air flow sensor and spray all surfaces with the cleaner. It should be fairly easy to remove and then reinstall. Since you just put a new MAF sensor on you may want to remove it before starting so you won't damage anything. Pay attention to the carbon in the upper intake as well since you may have a build-up there as well.
