Re: 97 metro hold brake and car still picks up idle
It sounds like your transmission is slipping. Does it start to roll when you take your foot off the break, with the selector in drive, or do you have to goose it a bit? My automatic lugs down somewhat when ideling in drive and creeps forward if I ease up on the break pedal. As far as I know it's working like it should.

Re: 97 metro hold brake and car still picks up idle
I think it is the throttle position motor but I dont know why it stays in the out position then takes long to retract to idle down

Re: 97 metro hold brake and car still picks up idle
Your brake booster may be leaking atmostpheric air into the intake when the brakes are applied, causing a vacuum leak. Disconnect the brake booster hose and plug it. Resample problematic scenario and record results.
