hey,
whats up all! sorry for the lame azz title.Just need some quick attention////he he he

anyways... i have a 91 crx hf (and the tranny sucks big time in the hf!!!!!!!!!!) as you all know! the gearing is jacked on these trannies!!!anyways someone told me to swap in a CRX si tranny in it and it will make a world of difference (not HP) but driving quality!!!!! is this true>>???? and will it bolt right up to my crx hf? what years will fit my 91..thank you all for helping.

any answers will be greatly appreciated!

yeah it will, and the shorter gearing will do wonders, but your gas milage will go down... other than that yeah

any years 88+ D-series trannies that are cable clutch will work...

so i could put an si tranney on my std civic? Four gears really sucks and third gear is usless

yup...any 88-91 tranny will bolt up to the hf or std block....you'd need to keep the hf/std axles and its a bolt-in swap

or if you really wanted the stronger SI axles you can change the hubs, but theres no need if you have an HF motor. Yes the gearing would be better but I would also take into consideration the redline of your 91 HF. I had one myself a long time ago and if I remember the redline is like 5000K. I would imagine that you would be wanting more revs with the SI trans to get the most out of it. Seems like you would have to shift a wee bit early. But it should be a nice little go kart for city driving with the shorter gears.
