so i went to the post office today and there was a blonde there that i desired heavily! what do you think the chances are of picking a girl up that you've never met in public places(gas station, post office, store, etc..) i usually get girls from the bar, cause im much more comfortable with myself after a few drinks, but when it comes to a situation like today, i freeze like a coward. i bet if i asked for her number, she'd probably give it, or say she has a bf... but its so nerve racking to approach someone like that, girls, is it rude if someone starts a conversation if you dont know the guy? or do you get flattered?

I'm no girl but speaking from an older woman's point of view. I think it's very flattering when a total stranger strikes up a conversation with me at the grocery store. I've never given out my phone number but I have given out my email addy that way we can continue getting to know each other.

Anyway, back when I was single, it was incredibly flattering to have someone strike up a conversation with me. It still is, although sometimes men are way too obvious with what they want and I have to be rude.

My advice, just talk to a woman in public, but don't be a complete jackass about the way you do it.

I think giving out the email is kinda like a brush off. I'v seen it to many times with my boy who isn't the lady killer. He has gotten a few email address but it seemed like the girls where just brushing him off. One instance the girl gave him the address then came and whispered to me "make sure he contacts me so I can get your number" She whispered it cause I was there with my girl.

u pimp u...lol and yes, blondes are my weakpoint. if i had a wall of pictures with my exs, there would be bout 22 blonde girls that look almost identical, and one brunette!lol id find it weird if i got an email address, but its still a way to communicate and it might work. the hard part is being able to spot out single girls. i usually watch there body language and if she glances at me more than once, i take that as a good sign that they are single. and nicole, id never try to pick up a girl by saying something like, damn ur sexy, etc.... you just have to be friendly and smile! hardest part is starting the conversation...

Email, FTW!

One of the popular dating gurus has an "Email Technique" that's brilliant in its simplicity...

Basically, it goes like this:

1. Chat up a new girl for 3-5 minutes. Talk about whatever is appropriate to the situation. You sill have to have the balls to approach the girl in the first place, and you have to not come off as a cheeseball or creep.

2. Say it was nice talking to her and excuse yourself to leave.

3. After one step away, which is enough for her to think "he's leaving w/out asking for my number?" You stop, turn back and say...

4. "Hey, do you have email." (the brilliant part is that you're just asking if she has it, you haven't asked what the address is yet.)

5a. She says 'no.' You reply with something like, "Well, do you have electricity? How about a phone?" in a playful way. Follow up with, "Then you'll have to give me your number, I guess. I really prefer email... Maybe someday you'll catch up with the rest of the modern world and get an email account."

5b. She says 'yes.' You pull out your pen and paper that you WILL ALWAYS have on you from now on, and you say, "Good. Write it down, so we can continue this chat later."

6. When she's about halfway through writing it (at the "@" works perfectly), you say, "And go ahead and put your number down, too..."

7. When she's done writing, take your stuff and leave. don't hang out and talk more and ask where she's going next and all that crap. Leave. Every other douchebag guy would hang around, and you want to be different. Especially if your brief interaction was a positive one, you want to leave her wanting more.


(bonus round) if you're feeling cocky and she's having fun, tell her to draw a picture of herself, so you'll remember her better. Or whatever. be creative.

Let's review: What did you ask for? Nothing. No needy BS. No, "hey you wanna go out sometime." (which is just about the worst possible line ever!) At the end, everything is still up in the air, and she's left with some anticipation to see what'll happen next...

After this, it's still up to you to not turn into a chode. But at least you got a number/email.

I got my new guy by giving my number to his friend (who turned out to be a total jackass but had introduced me to his hot friend before I realised that) that I met on the train one night, but my friend started talking to him first because she was super drunk.

I think it's all about how you approach the girl. I'm not into the whole "hi (long pause)". you need something good to catch her attention, like something she's wearing that gives you info about her or something like that.
